What Fig is
Fig is a desktop app that runs AI software-engineering agents on your code repositories. It runs on your machine and does what you tell it to. It’s in beta. By using it you accept these terms.
Your license to use Fig
You can install and use Fig on your own machines. Fig itself stays ours — these terms give you the right to use it, not to own it, copy it for others, or resell it.
The same goes for what these terms call Fig Content: the fixed prompt text Fig delivers to your agents — written by Fig, not generated in your session — including its system prompts, skills, and principles, and any derivatives of them. Your sessions will contain Fig Content; that’s how Fig works. When Fig builds a prompt out of its own text and yours, each of us keeps our own.
We draw one line: don’t use Fig Content to compete with Fig — and selling it or republishing it as a thing of its own counts as competing. Short of that line, we make no claims. Your code, your sessions, and any software you build with Fig are yours, and any use of Fig Content that isn’t aimed at competing with us is fine by us.
Your code, your results
The agents read and change the repositories and other directories you give them, at your direction, and with your permission they can run scripts directly on your machine. Only use Fig where you’re allowed to make changes.
Everything the agents produce is yours.
The agents can be wrong. It’s your job to review and test what they write, and you’re responsible for anything you deploy or ship.
Payment
Fig is free during beta. You bring your own AI provider account and pay the provider directly — that relationship is between you and them.
Some features may cost money later — new ones, or ones that are free today. You’ll see the price first, and you’ll never be charged without agreeing to it.
No warranty, limited liability
Fig is provided as is. We don’t promise that it’s free of bugs, that it fits your purpose, or that it will produce any particular result.
To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost profits, lost data, or changes the agents make to your code or your machine, and our total liability is capped at what you’ve paid us — during the beta, nothing. If some of this isn’t allowed where you live, it applies as far as your law permits.
Changes
If these terms change, the new version goes up here with a new effective date. Using the app after that means you accept the new terms.
